IronMerge is currently seeking experienced Large Production Excavator Operators for ongoing opportunities within a high-volume autonomous open pit mining environment. This is a strong opportunity to secure ongoing work operating in a modern production setting alongside autonomous haulage and ancillary fleets.
We are looking for operators who can step into a busy load and haul environment and confidently maintain safe, efficient digging standards while loading both autonomous and manned haul trucks.
About the Role These positions will involve operating Liebherr 9400 and 9600 Excavators to support load and haul production requirements in a large-scale open pit mining operation. Operators will be working in an autonomous environment and will need to demonstrate strong awareness around safe equipment interaction, work area standards and production performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operate Liebherr 9400 / 9600 Excavators in an autonomous open pit mining environment
Load both autonomous and manned haul trucks, including 930E and CAT 793 fleets
Maintain batters, benches, floors and safe work areas to a high production standard
Work safely and efficiently around autonomous trucks and other ancillary equipment
Contribute to consistent load and haul delivery from pit to crusher
Follow site safety procedures, operational standards and Priority Pit Rules

FIFO from Perth only
Flights provided by Virgin Airlines, departing T2 Domestic Terminal
Roster: 8 Days / 6 R&R, followed by 7 Nights / 7 R&R
12.5 hour shifts
Days: 5:30am to 6:00pm
Nights: 5:30pm to 6:00am
Accommodation provided in permanent ensuite rooms
Ongoing contract opportunities
Commencing from April
Hourly rate: $70-$75 per hour
What We’re Looking For
Minimum 12 months experience operating large production excavators in a mining environment
Experience on Liebherr excavators preferred, though not essential
Strong capability maintaining batters, benches, floors and safe loading areas
Confidence loading both autonomous and manned haul trucks
Previous exposure to autonomous mining environments highly regarded
Frontrunner AHS experience advantageous but not essential
Understanding of Priority Pit Rules
Valid manual driver’s licence
Available for a telephone interview and immediate start
Preference for candidates with no planned leave in the next 6 months
